Medical documents after surgery in Korea: what to ask for
Receipts, itemised bills, treatment confirmations and medical certificates after cosmetic surgery in Korea: what each is for and how to request them.
Once you are home, it is much harder to ask a clinic in another country for paperwork. Decide what you need before you travel and request it during your visit.
Common documents
Receipt
Proof of payment, issued when you pay.
Itemised bill
A breakdown of what the fee covered.
Treatment confirmation
Confirms the dates of your visit and what was done.
Medical certificate
A doctor’s certificate describing your condition and treatment, for example for travel or work.
Tips
- Ask in advance whether documents can be issued in English, and whether a fee applies.
- Cosmetic surgery is generally not covered by health insurance; check with your insurer before relying on any document.
- If you may still have dressings or swelling when you fly, ask whether a certificate would help at the airport.
- Keep photos of the documents on your phone as well as the paper copies.

This website provides general information about procedures offered at Harmony Plastic Surgery and is not a substitute for a medical consultation. Every procedure carries risks such as swelling, bruising, asymmetry, scarring or infection, and results differ from person to person. Suitability is decided by the surgeon after an in-person examination.
