Nose

Non-incisional alar reduction: about 10 minutes, no skin incision

For noses whose width is mild, the nostril wings can be drawn inward with a suture placed under the skin, without removing tissue. It takes about 10 minutes and you can return to daily life straight away.

How it works

A fine suture is passed under the skin between the bases of the two nostril wings and tightened to bring them slightly closer together. Because no skin is removed, there is no external scar.

Who it suits

  • Your nostril wings flare a little, especially when you smile
  • Your nostril wings are relatively thin
  • You want a short procedure with little downtime

When incisional surgery is better

A suture can only draw the wings together; it cannot make thick or large wings smaller. In those cases incisional alar reduction gives a clearer result. Dr. Yu will tell you honestly which method suits your nose — Harmony does not recommend surgery you do not need.

Frequently asked questions

Does the effect last?

Suture methods can relax over time, especially with strong facial movement. Dr. Yu explains what to expect for your nose at consultation.
