Consultation
Your nose consultation in Korea: what to prepare and what to ask
How to prepare for a nose consultation in Korea: describing what bothers you, photos to bring, and the questions to ask about method, stitches, recovery and cost.
A good consultation is the most important part of nose surgery, especially when you are travelling for it. A little preparation helps you get clear answers in the time you have.
Describe what bothers you — not the procedure
Instead of asking for a named procedure, describe what you see: “my nose looks wide from the front”, “my nostrils show a lot from the side”, “my nostril wings spread when I smile”. The surgeon can then tell you whether the cause is the nostril wings, the nostrils, the columella or the overall shape.
Photos to bring
- Front view, relaxed and smiling
- Both side profiles
- A view from below showing the nostrils
- Any photos of noses you like — as a reference for direction, not a copy
Questions to ask
- Which method do you recommend for me, and why?
- Is an incision needed? Where will the scar be?
- Are there stitches, and when are they removed?
- How long is the procedure, and what anaesthesia is used?
- When can I fly home?
- What is the total fee, and could anything be added?
- What would you not recommend for me?
At Harmony
Dr. Yu consults with every patient herself. She looks at your whole face before recommending anything, and she will tell you if a procedure is not needed. See alar reduction, non-incisional alar reduction and columella lift.
This website provides general information about procedures offered at Harmony Plastic Surgery and is not a substitute for a medical consultation. Every procedure carries risks such as swelling, bruising, asymmetry, scarring or infection, and results differ from person to person. Suitability is decided by the surgeon after an in-person examination.
